This is where the volume of plastics are being generated. E-waste, auto-shredder residue, plastic film, and blended polymer products are some of the highest grade plastics when produced, but have some of the lowest recycling rates. By starting with product design and manufacturing techniques that aim to utilize this vast stream of material scale and cost effectiveness can be achieved.
Innovative Manufacturing
Too often materials are rejected for the simple reason that they do not fit into the very rigid and inflexible machinery that has existed for nearly a century. 9BT has developed innovations in material handling and processing that allow the mixed polymer post consumer waste streams to be utilized at commodity scale production levels.
Scale
Scale must be achieved. Nine billion tons of plastic demands a innovative and dramatic paradigm shift. Commodity scale production means millions of pounds of plastic be recaptured and retained in the economy. Every pound run through a 9BT plant is a pound out of the ocean, landfill, or incinerator.
